A diet plan for Lahore, without giving up Lahori food.

NutriZaika builds personalised 28-day diet plans for people in Lahore around the food they already eat: Sunday halwa puri, nihari, lassi, karahi and the dinners of wedding season. Can you lose weight in Lahore and still eat Lahori food?

Yes. Lahore eats well, and a plan that bans your favourite food usually lasts about a week. We start from what your family cooks and where you eat out, and then change portions, cooking fat and timing rather than the dishes themselves.

  • Halwa puri on Sunday: keep it as a planned breakfast, with one puri fewer and the chana in a bigger share of the plate.
  • Nihari and paye: skim the tari (the fat on top), have one naan instead of two, and plan a lighter lunch that day.
  • Lassi: a plain or salted glass made with ordinary yoghurt fits easily. The sweet version with a layer of cream counts as dessert.
  • Chargha, karahi and winter fried fish: grilled or tikka versions most weeks, and the fried ones planned rather than every weekend.

Our guide to roti and weight loss shows how portion size, rather than giving up roti, makes the difference.

How do you handle wedding season and dawats?

From mehndi to valima, a Lahore winter can bring several late dinners a week. Your plan treats them as part of life. On a dinner day, breakfast and lunch are lighter and built around protein and sabzi, so a plate of biryani or korma at night still fits the week.

At the dinner itself, start with salad and a piece of chicken or mutton, take one serving of rice or naan rather than both, and choose one dessert. If the food arrives at midnight, have a small snack at your usual dinner time so you don't arrive starving.

How do you stay active in Lahore heat and smog?

Lahore gives you two hard seasons for walking: the summer heat and the winter smog. In summer, walk early in the morning or after sunset, in Jilani (Race Course) Park, Model Town Park or simply around your block. On heavy smog days, move your walk indoors: climbing stairs at home, a mall walk, or the home exercise routine.

Signature plans include an optional home exercise routine matched to your goal and conditions, with an animated guide for every movement, so smog or heat never stops you moving.

Which tests should you bring to your assessment?

You don't need tests to start. If you have recent results, send them on WhatsApp and we read them into your plan. Signature plans include a Lab Insight Review of results such as haemoglobin, HbA1c, vitamin D, cholesterol and thyroid.

In Lahore, labs such as Chughtai Lab and Excel Labs have collection points across the city, and many offer home sampling. If you have diabetes, PCOS or a thyroid problem, ask your doctor which tests to get first.

What does a day on the plan look like in Lahore?

Here is an example weekday. It shows the pattern rather than a prescription: your own plan gives every portion in grams, set for your body and your goal.

WhenExample
BreakfastTwo-egg omelette with onion and tomato, one roti, doodh patti with less sugar
LunchDaal or chicken salan, one roti, salad and raita
EveningChai with roasted chana or a guava, then a walk
DinnerChicken karahi or tikka, one roti, salad
Sunday breakfastHalwa puri as a planned meal: one puri, a full bowl of chana, a small spoon of halwa

On a wedding night, breakfast and lunch stay light, and dinner starts with salad and protein.

How does an online nutritionist work in Lahore?

You fill in a short assessment and talk to us on WhatsApp or a video call: your health history, your routine, your budget and the food you love or avoid. We build a 28-day plan with every ingredient in grams, and Nida Tu Sehar, Nutritionist and Dietitian, reviews it before it reaches you on WhatsApp within 48 hours.

Results vary from person to person. One client went from 94 kg to 67 kg; others have written to us about losing 7 kg, 10 kg or around 16 kg. You can read their messages on our client reviews page. Plans and prices are on plans and pricing.

Who reviews your plan

Every NutriZaika plan is reviewed by Nida Tu Sehar, Nutritionist and Dietitian (MPhil and BS (Hons) Food Sciences and Human Nutrition, Kinnaird College for Women, with over 7 years of clinical nutrition experience in hospitals). NutriZaika is a virtual health studio: there is no clinic to visit, so you never travel or wait.

Questions

01 Do you have a clinic in Lahore?

No. NutriZaika is a virtual health studio, so the assessment, the plan and the support all happen on WhatsApp and video calls. You never travel across Lahore or sit in a waiting room, and the plan and price are the same in every part of the city.

02 Can the plan be in Urdu?

We talk to you in English or Urdu, whichever you prefer, on WhatsApp and video calls. Tell us at the assessment which language suits you and the family member who cooks, so the plan is easy for everyone at home to follow.

03 Can my whole family follow the same plan?

Your plan is built for you, with your own calorie and protein targets, but it uses the same dishes your family cooks. Usually only your portions change, so nobody needs to cook a separate pot. If a family member wants their own plan, they book a separate assessment.

04 How soon will I get my plan?

Within 48 hours of your assessment, on WhatsApp. Every plan is reviewed by Nida Tu Sehar, Nutritionist and Dietitian, before it is sent, and you can message us with questions while you follow it.

05 Can my plan cover Ramadan?

Yes. If Ramadan falls in your 28 days, tell us at your assessment and your plan is built around sehri and iftar: a sehri that keeps you full until the evening, and an iftar that starts with dates and water before the pakoray and samosay. If you have diabetes or take medicines, ask your doctor before you fast.
